Using transit services? Take advantage of paying for qualified commuting expenses on a pre-tax basis.
Benefit Resource Inc. (BRI) is the administrator for the Commuter Benefit Plan (CBP), which provides you with the opportunity to pay for qualified commuting expenses on a pre-tax basis. If your transit or parking expenses exceed the pre-tax limit, you can also contribute additional amounts on an after-tax basis.
You can contribute and incur expenses up to the following pre-tax limits in 2025:
- Mass Transit — $325 per month
- Parking — $325 per month
The plan allows you to enroll and/or change your elections on a monthly basis. Changes may be made via email to a Human Resources Representative by the 5th of the month in which the change will be effective.

Important:
The Beniversal Card must be used to pay for Mass Transit expenses; reimbursement is not available.
Avoid letting your account balance build up. While you can carry over your balance from month to month or year to year, any excess balance will be forfeited and cannot be refunded if you leave the American Lung Association.
